OUR STORY
We believe that technology is only as good as the positive impact it makes for people and their communities. We place community, wellbeing, happiness and quality of life above all else and this inform the way we do business at Dropbird. Technological advancements for their own sake, ones that don’t serve the community, are not part of a sustainable and humanity focused future. Dropbird strives to embrace a sustainable community focus in all we do. We have a particular focus on those communities who have been hardest hit by bushfires, drought and other recent major economic and world events.
Dropbird was born out of necessity. With recent local and global events changing the way we shop, live and access essential services, Chris Bird, the founder of Dropbird, took his many years of experience in logistics and business and turned them into what Dropbird is today: an innovative and people focused business that serves the community through flexible and timely, home delivery solutions that connect you with the businesses you love.

Here at Dropbird, what we do is simple: we connect you with the businesses you love. We all lead busy and complex lives and it is often far more convenient to buy what we need online, usually through large online stores that sell everything we want. Small business is usually the loser in this equation as they don’t always have the infrastructure to offer super-fast and convenient online shopping experiences. There is no better time than right now for all of us to support our local businesses, neighbours, family, and friends. Small business is struggling with recent events, and as consumers we can make choices that support them and make sure our communities are vibrant and thriving.
Need a takeaway food fix? Have a hankering for some delicious fresh produce from your local food market or grocers? Perhaps you’ve bought something on Buy Swap Sell or Gumtree that needs collecting? or you need to buy a gift for a friend or even yourself? We have your back.
We have a list of places in the Ballina Shire that you can access while self-isolating or social distancing. Even when this crazy time is over, who doesn’t love a bit of home delivery and buying from the comfort of your own home?
